Matt & Liz in Palmar

Friday, February 25th, 2011

My friends: Liz and Matt are a couple of very young, yet very successful photographers from Panama. They invited me to the El Palmar beach on the Pacific cost of Panama to create their anniversary portrait.

Later in the evening, during low tide we had some light painting at the rocky beach:

Paris is for Lovers (Sandra & Bill)

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Sandra lives in Los Angeles, California and is an author of a popular wedding blog. She wrote an enthusiastic article about my work more than a year ago.  Many months later I found the blog entry when looking for references to my website, it ended with the following paragraph:

My fiance & I are hoping to go to Paris for our Honeymoon & I’m toying with the idea of getting a photographer out there for an hour or two to take some amazing shots in front of the Eiffel Tower & what not…I hope I can find someone like Tomasz Slota out there!!!

Grateful for her help with promoting my work, I wrote Sandra that I could possibly come to Paris and cover her honeymoon trip.  Another couple of months and a dozen of emails later the idea materialized, here are the results:

J&D: Pre-Wedding Portrait Session in Prague and in Vienna

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Jeanne and Desmond came from Hong Kong to attend their friend’s wedding in Budapest and they took the opportunity to take pre-wedding pictures in Prague and in Vienna. On the way we also stopped at the small town of Mikulov and took some snaps in there.

J & D are a fun couple to work with, I honestly envy the lucky photographer who will get to shoot their wedding in Hong Kong!

Big thanks to my assistants: Saneesh and Raifa for their contributions!

The make-up artists in Prague and in Vienna were Lucie Budinska and Alice Retzl respectively.

Daysa & Jeroen get Married in Panama

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

I spent most of 2002 and 2003 in Panama, participating in a student exchange program. I fell in love with this small tropical country and with its people. Panama has become my shelter from the cold European winters, I have been spending there a few weeks almost every year since.

Daysa was the one who picked me up from the airport the first time I arrived. After two years she participated in the same exchange program
in Mexico, where she met Jeroen. Because of Jeroen she moved to Holland. One day they both visited me in Prague and I took them a couple of pictures. They liked them so much that decided to appoint me as their wedding photographer. It was my shortest trip to Panama (six days), yet one of the most enjoyable.

The ceremony took place at Iglesia de San José in Casco Viejo (aka “Iglesia del Altar de Oro”), the reception was held at the Gamboa Resort.

During this assignment I was assisted by Sandy Hu.
